Prayer apps
Prayer app for women, praying through every season
· 3 min read
What women can look for in a prayer app, women of prayer in the Bible, how to make time to pray in a full season, and how The Pray App keeps it simple.

A prayer app for women should fit real life: the people you carry, the season you’re in, and time with God that can fit inside a full day. The Pray App is a prayer app for any Christian, and it adapts to whatever you’re praying for. You keep your requests as prayer cards, each with a Bible verse, and pray through a short list each day.
What should women look for in a prayer app?
Women can look for the same things every Christian needs in a prayer app: Scripture at the center, a short list of who to pray for each day, a place to write what’s on your heart, privacy, and a record of how God answers. It should also fit your season, whether that’s school, work, caring for children or parents, singleness, marriage, or grief, without adding guilt when a day gets away from you.
What does the Bible show about women who pray?
The Bible is full of women who prayed honestly and persistently.
- Hannah poured out her heart. Longing for a child, she said, “I have been pouring out my soul before the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:15, ESV). Later she said, “For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition” (1 Samuel 1:27, ESV).
- Mary praised God. “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Luke 1:46-47, ESV).
- Anna prayed for decades. “She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day” (Luke 2:37, ESV).
- Women prayed with the apostles. After Jesus ascended, the disciples “with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus” (Acts 1:14, ESV).
- Lydia met God at a place of prayer. Paul found a group of women gathered by the river “where we supposed there was a place of prayer,” and the Lord opened Lydia’s heart (Acts 16:13-14, ESV).
How can you make time to pray in a full season?
Making time to pray in a full season works best when prayer is short, specific, and tied to something you already do:
- Anchor it. Pray with your first coffee, on a walk, or before you pick up your phone.
- Keep the list short. Pray for a few people each day and spread the rest across the week.
- Use small moments. A one-sentence prayer while you wait still counts. “The Lord is near to all who call on him” (Psalm 145:18, ESV).
- Start again without guilt. His “mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV).

What can women pray for?
Women can bring everything to God, the same as anyone: “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6, ESV). Some places to start:
- Your own walk with God, to know Him and trust Him more. See how to pray for yourself.
- Your family, each person by name. See how to pray for your family.
- Friends, especially those going through something hard.
- Work, school, or the home you keep, for wisdom and faithfulness.
- Your church and the people who don’t yet know Jesus.
